Wyoming Class A CDL Mixed Practice Questions

This Wyoming Class A CDL practice bank contains 100 English questions from the saved mixed module. It combines general knowledge with air brakes, combination vehicles, doubles and triples, hazardous materials, tank vehicles, passenger, and school bus topics. The questions also cover inspection, cargo management, coupling, braking, emergencies, hazardous conditions, lane use, speed control, and commercial operating responsibilities. Because this is a mixed study bank, specialty-module questions are included for practice and do not mean every Class A applicant needs every endorsement. Use the guide below to separate the core Wyoming Class A licensing path from endorsement-specific requirements and to match your study plan to the vehicle and operation you actually expect to use.

LICENSING GUIDE

What to know before you test

Use this overview together with the latest official guidance linked below.

01

Understand what Wyoming Class A covers

Wyoming defines Class A for combination vehicles with a gross combination weight rating of 26,001 pounds or more when the vehicle or vehicles being towed have a gross vehicle weight rating over 10,000 pounds. A Class A credential can also cover vehicles within Classes B and C, except motorcycles. Wyoming treats endorsements as separate authorizations. For example, T covers multiple trailers, N covers qualifying tank vehicles, and H covers hazardous-material operations. In this mixed practice bank, specialty questions are therefore conditional study: they help you prepare when the vehicle or work you choose requires the related endorsement or equipment knowledge.

02

Build the CLP and testing sequence in order

A Wyoming commercial learner’s permit applicant must be at least 18 and already hold a valid Wyoming classified driver license. The applicant appears in person, presents the required documents and a DOT medical card when applicable, then passes the general knowledge test plus other written tests required for the class or endorsements sought, along with a vision screening. Wyoming written CDL tests require an 80 percent score. Federal rules require the CLP to be held for at least 14 days before the CDL skills test. The skills test includes vehicle inspection, basic controls, and an over-the-road test in a representative vehicle supplied by the applicant.

03

Prepare medical and identity documents before applying

Wyoming’s CLP process requires an in-person visit to a driver exam office, a photograph, and appropriate application documents. Commercial drivers also must present a current federal DOT Medical Certificate when applying for a Wyoming CDL unless an applicable exemption applies. These document and medical requirements are separate from the practice-question content, so use current Driver Services instructions when preparing an application rather than relying on a study bank as a document checklist. Keeping the licensing paperwork separate from test preparation helps avoid confusing knowledge-test coverage with the records needed to receive a permit or credential.

04

Check ELDT and endorsement rules for your path

Entry-Level Driver Training applies to first-time Class A applicants and to drivers upgrading an existing Class B CDL to Class A, subject to federal exceptions. First-time passenger, school bus, and hazardous-materials endorsements also have ELDT requirements; hazardous-material applicants must complete the required theory training before the H knowledge test. Wyoming notes that endorsement and restriction testing depends on the vehicle and operation. Before scheduling skills testing, confirm that any applicable ELDT completion is recorded and that the CDL class, endorsements, and restrictions match the vehicle you will use for testing and later commercial driving.

Drivers deciding whether Wyoming Class A and specialty endorsements match their intended commercial vehicle

Wyoming Class A applies to qualifying combination vehicles at or above the stated 26,001-pound GCWR threshold with a towed vehicle over 10,000 pounds. Endorsements are separate authorizations for particular vehicles or operations, and federal ELDT applies to first-time Class A applicants and certain first-time endorsement applicants.
