Wyoming Car Practice Questions

This Wyoming practice bank contains 100 original English questions for non-commercial Class C car preparation. Each question has four answer choices, one correct answer, and an explanation. The set covers signs and signals, right-of-way, lane use, turning and parking, speed and following distance, hazardous conditions, sharing the road, impaired and distracted driving, emergencies, and licensing responsibilities. The 100-question practice format is an editorial study format and does not describe the length or exact format of an official Wyoming examination. Licensing and testing notes below are based on current Wyoming Department of Transportation Driver Services information and are provided to help learners understand which requirements may apply to them.

LICENSING GUIDE

What to know before you test

Use this overview together with the latest official guidance linked below.

01

Who this practice set is for

Wyoming describes a non-commercial Class C vehicle as a single vehicle or combination, other than a motorcycle, that does not require a commercial driver license. This practice set is therefore aimed at ordinary car applicants and learners preparing for Class C rules. It is not a CDL or motorcycle question bank, and special restrictions can apply to younger drivers and particular vehicle weights.

02

Learner permit basics

A regular learner permit is generally issued to people ages 15 to 16, although an older new driver may also receive one. The permit holder may drive only with a person over age 18 in the front passenger seat who has a valid license at least equivalent to the vehicle being driven. Applicants must appear in person for a photograph, pass the written exam and vision screening, present the appropriate documents, and minors under 18 need a parent or legal guardian to sign the application.

03

Testing and preparation

WYDOT says applicants may be examined by written test, vision screening, and a demonstration of safe driving ability, depending on the application. First-time applicants and people whose license has been expired for two years or more are among those required to take and pass a written test. For Class C preparation, WYDOT directs applicants to the Rules of the Road manual. If the same written test is failed, WYDOT limits attempts on that test to two in one day.

04

Teen graduated licensing

For an intermediate permit, Wyoming lists age 16, at least 10 days holding a learner permit, and 50 hours of actual behind-the-wheel driving including 10 hours at night. Applicants also need a driving skills test and vision screening. The intermediate permit carries restrictions such as permitted driving hours and limits on non-family passengers under 18. Drivers under 17 who have not completed an approved driver education course are not eligible for full driving privileges.

05

How to use the practice questions

Use the bank to identify weak topics rather than treating a score on this site as an official result. Review explanations after each answer and return to the WYDOT Rules of the Road manual for the underlying rule or safety principle. Because official requirements can depend on age, prior licensing history, permit type, and the vehicle being driven, confirm your own application path with Wyoming Driver Services before an exam or skills-test appointment.

REQUIREMENTS OVERVIEW

Wyoming Car requirements

Requirements depend on the applicant and can change. Verify each item with the cited agency.

age

Regular learner permit applicants and teen drivers

A regular learner permit is generally issued at ages 15 to 16 but may also be issued to an older person learning to drive. Wyoming lists age 16 as an eligibility requirement for an intermediate permit.

documents

Learner permit applicants

Applicants must appear in person at a local driver exam office for a photograph, present the appropriate documents, and minors under age 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign the application.

tests

Class C applicants and learner permit applicants

Wyoming may require written testing, vision screening, and a driving skills test depending on the application. Learner permit applicants must pass the written exam and vision screening; intermediate permit applicants must pass a driving skills test and vision screening.

passing

Applicants taking required Wyoming tests

Applicants must pass each required examination for their application path. WYDOT states that a person who fails the same written test may take that same test no more than twice in one day; the public Class C testing information reviewed does not state a normal numeric passing percentage.

applicability

Non-commercial Class C drivers

Wyoming Class C covers a single vehicle or combination, other than motorcycles, that does not require a commercial driver license. Additional restrictions apply to drivers under 18 and to graduated or restricted permits.
